A bit about Polly!

Hi my name is Kayla and I started Polly! Scrap Kits as a bit of hobby business around my Uni commitments. I
love scrapbooking with friends and playing with new products, which prompted me to start a scrap shop! As a new business, Polly! has been growing with new customers and friendly friends throughout the year.

My name is Beth Jarrett and I have been scrapping for 10 years. I have three kids who are the main focus of my scrapping. I love scrapping. I love the finished product, but what I love most is the process. I like to take my time when scrapping as I like to enjoy it. It can take me up to a week to complete a layout. I live in a small town in Australia called Tumut. I have lived my whole life basically in this country town and I love the peace and serenity which surrounds us.

I am married to my school friend sweetheart Andrew and we share three beautiful daughters- Kayley, Emma and Bridget.

I have been scrapping since 2007 and I love a great challenge and enjoy trying different techniques. I do like to use bright and bold colours on my layouts which might make me stand out from the rest-LOL .
I love to cut up pp and use a lot of chipboard and embellishments on my layouts.

TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES...

Hey Everyone

Just a quick message for all the readers of Kraft It Up, White With 1 and Scrap The Boys...

I am having some major computer issues at the moment and my laptop is off to see someone who can hopefully work out what is wrong with it and fix it tomorrow...

I am therefore, depending on how long it takes to get fixed, could be out of action for a while, hopefully not too long but it may mean that there will not be the monthly challenge posted on the 1st and if you are waiting for emails from me there may be a delay there as well..

I am using my daughters computer at the moment however it doesnt have all of my images from the CT on it which will cause a delay until I get mine back...

Please bear with me, fingers crossed I am back up and going very very soon, that is until this baby decideds to come which will hopefully be after I get the computer back LOL!

KIU Creative Team Call...

It is that time again, we are on the look out for some talented scrappers to join us here on the Kraft It Up Creative Team...

The CT Term will be from February through to the end of July with the option of a further 6 months.

DUTIES: You will need to create one layout per month based on specific criteria which is always emailed in advance, you are required to comment on some users entries, I realise that we all have busy lives and it may be impossible to comment on 40+ entries each month, you are also required to vote for the previous months challenge entries and promote Kraft It Up on your blog and facebook page and anywhere else that is allowed.

To apply for the KIU CT Call please read the below information....

Firstly you MUST LOVE KRAFT, you will need to create your layout examples on Kraft Cardstock or Kraft Patterned Paper.

You need to email me 2 layouts, ONE that best showcases your style and the 2ND using the following sketch....

Hi, I'm Jodie! 

I live in Warneet, a tiny coastal village on the Western Port Bay in south  east Victoria with my hubby and 2 girls, Cassie and Chelsie. 

4 years ago, we moved into a 'renovator's delight' and I have to say,  renovating and living in the house with 2 kids in tow is by no means a delight!  It's been a slow and sometimes frustrating process but for the most part, we're  enjoying the experience and getting use to living in a house that doesn't have  electricity in the main bathroom (for now)

I started scrapping about 6 years ago. It's the perfect hobby for me. I  have a Graphic and Web Design background, majored in photography when I was  studying and took oil painting and life drawing classes when I was growing up so  I love being creative.

I've been published in the Australian Scrapbooking magazines and been on  a manufacturer's design team and a few creative teams. I'm also a former  Scrapbooking store and website owner. Although I don't scrap as much as did when  I had the store, I enjoy it a lot more and have become more experimental.

I'm really excited to be part of the Kraft It Up team for the next 6 months  and I hope I inspire everyone with the challenges :)

Hi my name is Lindy Gillespie & I live in sunny Brisbane . I am married  with 2 grown up children Craig and Kate and a very old Poodle named Charlie and  an obnoxious cat called Java -and like any animals are very much part of the  family.

I have been scrapping for about 7 years & first stumbled  across a bricks and mortar store which caught my eye so i had to investigate to  my surprise was immediately addicted ....

I'm not sure that I have a  particular scrapping style....it is forever changing. Atm i'm a bit addicted to  paint and misting and most of my work have at least a couple of flowers and a  number of embellisments on them. My name is Tarrah McLean and I live on the NSW  Central Coast with my somewhat supportive hubby Simon LOL!!! and our two  gorgeous sons, Luke, 5 years and Oliver, 5 months.

I have been scrapbooking for 5 years now and like  everyone else, LOVE IT!!!

I really enjoy joining in the many challenge blogs around as I feel it  helps to make me a better scrapbooker, I learn so much from fellow scrappers and  get so many awesome ideas!!!

I have been lucky enough to have been published many times in Australia's Scrapbooking Memories magazine, with my most exciting news being that I received an Honourable Mention for my double layout for my Masters entry last year.

Also for the first time this year I decided to enter a double layout into the Sydney Royal Easter Show Arts and Crafts and was so excited to receive 3rd prize!!!

I would have to say that my scrapping style is pretty versatile and changes a lot!! I really enjoy the shabby/chic type style as well as the more funky/grungy boyish type styles as well. ”I live in sunny Darwin, with my incredible husband and 3 rapidly growing, energetic boys!

I was introduced to scrapping 9 years ago, then had many sleepless nights trying to contain all the endless possibilities racing through my head! That was just the beginning. It has only been in the last couple of years that I’ve discovered the online world and that has opened yet again, a whole new world of possibilities, which I feel like I can’t get enough of! I’ve made so many cyber friends, I love it! I’m really enjoying being exposed to (and closely involved with) so much Aussie talent even tho I’m tucked up in this little corner of the Top End.

I am a Teachers Aide and work with kids with special needs, which I’m studying for this year, so feel a bit ‘time poor’, but still manage to sneak some creativity in here and there....we all need some ‘therapy’ now hey!

The ‘challenge’ world is so inspiring and I love being made to get out of my comfort zone on most occasions! I certainly did not ever dream, even a year ago, that I would be doing any of this! I love that the online world has helped me grow and develop in this amazing craft. That is one goal certainly achieved, as well as being published in a magazine for the first time just recently.

As for my future goals, I would like to continue to be published, but I think more importantly, for my family to continue to love the memories that are being recorded page by page and for me to continue to grow and develop in this amazing, enriching art we all share!

I have two kids and a funny (as in ha-ha), darling husband. Our life is like a three-ring circus, with all three rings going at once. Apart from looking after my children, I also find time for part-time English tutoring, and my passions, photography and scrapbooking (sadly there's no time for housework). My style is to use lots of bright colours with a retro twist. I love to play and jazz up my photos a bit in Photoshop, and use my printer like a typewriter for lots of my journalling. When I’m in my scrap space, I love getting my hands inky, prefer making my own page titles, losing myself in my inks, stamps, stitching, paint and embossing techniques. I am not shy about upcycling found objects or even my kids’ craft stash. For me, the most important part of the page is recording a story or a moment in time.

KIU Creative Team Call REMINDER

Yes you heard right, it is time for us to have some new members on the Creative Team!!!

Sadly we have to say goodbye to some of our gorgeous CT who have almost finished their time with KIU, I would love to keep them all and more but it isn't possible...

So if you would like to become a CT Member for KIU this is what you have to do...

* Create two layouts specifically for this CT Call...

(1) This layout needs to showcase your scrapping style and of course needs to be created with Kraft or Kraft Patterned Paper.

(2) You need to create a layout using one or more of these criteria, also on Kraft or Kraft Patterned Paper...
* Distressing
* White Space (also known as negative space or a minimalistic layout)
* Multiple Photos
* Layering
* Arty techniques - glimmermists, paints, doodling, masking

You will also need to email me a short bio that you are happy to have shared on the KIU blog.

Entries close: 25th May (Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May and given July's Criteria to have completed by 29th June)

What you will need to do:

KIU Creative Team members need to create 1 layout a month based on the criteria supplied, advertise KIU on their blogs, facebook and other sites where allowed, you also need to vote each month.

Welcome to Kraft It Up's April challenge, this month we have a ripper of a challenge, the Creative Team had heaps of fun with this one and we hope you do too...

"Hi, I am Felicity Wilson, a mother to 2 gorgeous little boys (yes biased too!!), Brae 18 months and Piper 3 weeks old, married to a wonderful husband, Brett. I am a stay at home mum and love every minute of it, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love watching my sons grow and change everyday. I live in a small country town in central QLD. I love to shop for anything.

I have been scrapping for a few years now, but the last 3 years as seen me be a little more ‘serious’, if you could say it like that.. Since having Brae in 2009, I have now really found a style and enjoy scrapping even more. Maybe it’s because I am not scrapping photo’s of myself. Haha. I get so much inspiration everyday from just being around my boys, which is what influences my Layouts and the design.

Is a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 challenge, you must create a layout based on the following...

1 piece of Kraft cardstock

2 photos smaller than 6x4

3 different Alphas

4 different patterned papers (yes you can use the reverse side of one sheet as long as the pattern is different)

5 different embellishments

** Paint, Mists, Distressing and any other technique based creating are not classed as embellishments, you can still use these of course but they do not count as your 5 embellishments, you need to think chipboard, ribbon, twine, journal blocks, flowers, buttons, jewels/bling, pins, tapes, stickers, handmade embellishments, paper clips, lace, tabs, diecuts etc...

JULIE WINKS...

Hi. My name is Julie Winks and I’m a stay at home mum with a massive creative addiction.

My husband Troy is a long suffering scrap widow and we have four incredibly active kids together, who seem to want to be involved in every sport and extra curricula activity on the planet at the moment, hence life is a big blur for me right now... and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Maddison 14, Claire 11, Cooper 7 and my little mate at home Lachlan 2, take up every second of my time... when I’m not creating or blogging!!

From my first creation about 6 years ago, I was instantly hooked and loved nothing more than sharing my pages with people. It comes as no surprise then that I was also instantly hooked on the whole ‘online’ experience.

To be brutally honest, I have no idea what my scrapping style is.... and I’ve given up trying to pigeon hole myself. Whilst whatever style i have is constantly evolving, some aspects remain constant. I love lots of white space and I am really colour driven. Colour combinations in design are always the things that catch my eye and that is always what inspires me when I create a layout... no doubt a hangover from my interior design studies at uni, which is now far too long ago to admit to!!

The thing I love about creating with kraft is that it keeps you honest. There is no opportunity to hide in printed, textured or patterned backgrounds. You are left with nothing but your style and imagination to rely on..... and that is often very refreshing. I’d love to be considered for a CT spot with KIU, because I just adore creative challenges and being involved in the creative genius that I’ve discovered at KIU.

My name is Lauren Bell.
I live on a cattle property in Queensland with my farmer husband and 3 little darlings (sometimes!), Lachlan (6), Michala (4)and Darcie (1).

I started scrapping not long after Lachlan was born and was hooked pretty much straight away!

Queensland Flood Appeals...

We have all heard the devastating effects the floods are having in Queensland, so much heartbreak for families losing or missing loved ones, losing everything they own, it is just unfathomable...

I just want to post on both Kraft It Up and White With 1 a couple of links for some sites that Sherry Mendozza & Sharryn Thompson have created to help fundraise for the families of Queensland and also a couple of links for monetary donations.

Firstly is the Rising Flood Appeal

"I am asking that you scrap a page that will be appropriate to go into a memory album for a family so that all they need to do is add photos. Hopefully they will have friends and family who can supply them with photos as no doubt they will all be lost too.
If you aren't a scrapbooker, don't worry you won't miss out, you could make a card for a family or a small gift that could also be passed on. I'm sure anything you make will be greatly appreciated by the flood victims."
